As the New Year approaches I would like you to consider volunteering to be a member of the compassionate
care groups.
There are 4 groups to choose from:
1. Visiting people who are no longer able to travel outside of their home.
2. Providing food during the exciting time of childbirth.
3. Providing food during times of illness and family deaths.
4. Keeping in touch with families and individuals that have not attended church for a while.
There is something for everyone! Just contact one of the leaders to see how you can be involved.
Group 1 is “Visitation” led by Marie Cope
Group 2 is “New Born” led by Tammie Richardson
Group 3 is “Food in times of Need” led by Tracey Behrer
Group 4 is “Shepherding” led by Robyn Phillips
I hope you will give prayerful thought to volunteering some time to these very special programs.

Are you looking for a niche? CUMC’s SHARE Program needs you! - posted 10/17/2006 at 9:50:52 AM

What is SHARE? Cherokee distributes food from the SHARE Food Bank one Saturday morning a month to
people in our area. SHARE Virginia supplies food at a minimum cost to low-income families and all
people who wish to stretch their food dollars. A new coordinator is needed for the program ASAP. The
SHARE coordinator submits the monthly food order to SHARE and helps with the Saturday distribution
and receipts. This is an amazing ministry of our church! Can you help? Please see Bonnie Patterson or
Rachael Barnett for more information. Top |
