Here are some of the missions Cherokee
involved in.
Where is God calling you to serve?
ISHE ANESU -- Cherokee is in a covenant partnership with Ishe Anesu and its founder Maria Humbane. We support the organization in its work with children in Sakubva,
Zimbabwe.
SHARE
-- Cherokee distributes food from the SHARE Food Bank
once a month to people in need in our area. A new
coordinator is currently needed for the program.
Volunteer drivers are also needed for the food pick-up
once a month.
MELTING POT -- Cherokee participates in the Melting Pot ministry on the second Monday of each month. The Melting Pot is a food ministry at Munsey UMC supported by Good Samaritan Ministries. Food preparation is Sunday evening at 4:00 pm and food is served at 11:00 am on the next day. For more information contact Judith Robertson.
SHEPHERD'S STOREHOUSE -- The Storehouse mission is to recycle God's abundance so that our community may enjoy affordable clothing and household goods and that Christ's mission in the world may be advanced. The proceeds of the Storehouse underwrite local, national and world missions. The store is open Saturdays from 8:30 - Noon and Wednesday s 1:00-4:00. CZECH REPUBLIC --
The Johnson City District of the United Methodist Church
is partnering with emerging Christian communities and
churches in the Czech Republic. This is part of an
initiative called “In Mission Together” The
district will be taking several mission trips to the
Czech Republic over the next three years.

UM RELIEF
CENTER
-- This summer the Cherokee Youth will be returning to Mt. Pleasant, SC to do construction work. The United Methodist Relief Center makes long-lasting changes in peoples’ lives by repairing and rehabilitating substandard housing and providing new housing for very low income families. Recent Individual Mission Experiences:
Andy Trent -- Andy spent two months assisting in community centers established by the United Methodist Church of Venezuela where he was involved in health outreach and youth programs. The trip was set up by United Methodist Volunteers in Missions.
