Children's Worship Powerpoint
Please be patient, this file takes awhile to load.
If your child is at least four years old and not yet finished second grade, he or she is welcome to attend their own Children's worship time. Children's worship is offered during both worship services. Children start out in the sanctuary with their families, then they are dismissed for their own worship time.
The purpose of Cherokee's Children's worship is to teach our children about "big church." It is with this in mind, that we have modeled our Children's worship time after what the kids will see in regular worship. Our curriculum teaches each aspect of worship, and the format is very similar to what they will find when they "graduate" to regular worship. With this in mind, the children will truly experience their own worship time. This is a real time of worship for our children, and not just a time of play, or simply a story time for the children. Parents, we ask that in order to help us maintain an attitude of worship, please allow your children to stay in Children's worship for the entire time. Please understand that when children leave early, they lose out on important aspects of worship. If you would like to see more of what they are learning, please click on the link at the top of the page to view a Powerpoint presentation from a recent Sunday.
When they "graduate" to regular worship, they will have an understanding of worship and be better able to fully participate.
Once your child is ready to enter third grade, he or she will move from Children's worship to regular worship. Each will then have the opportunity to be an acolyte and to participate in other aspects of worship.
We realize that not all children are ready to fully participate and stay engaged at this age, so we provide a children's bulletin to help them with their time.
